PDP Admission Requirements

Performance Diploma Program and Bachelor of Music (Thompson Rivers University)

Disciplines:		Piano, Voice, and Orchestral Instruments
Level:		Postsecondary (undergraduate)
Program Length:		4 years

High school diploma – Applicants from Quebec must have successfully completed a minimum of one year of CEGEP. SAT scores are not required from US applicants.

Piano applicants are required to provide a prescreening recording (CD or DVD) featuring three pieces selected from the audition repertoire page within this document.

Voice applicants are required to provide a prescreening recording (CD or DVD) featuring one selection in Italian, one in English, and one in German or French. These language requirements must be met; substitutions are not allowed.

English language proficiency scores must be received no later than January 15, 2010. Applicants will not be admitted without an official score on file that meets the minimum guidelines for admission.

How much time do studies at The Glenn Gould School require?

?	Students must be registered in at least 20 hours of class or individual instruction per week.
?	The Artist Diploma Program requires a minimum of two years and a maximum of three years.
?	The Performance Diploma Program requires a minimum of three years and a maximum of five years.
?	The academic year consists of 31 weeks, September to April.

Audition Repertoire

Percussion

1. Timpani: one timpani solo or etude from Goodman, Firth, or Hinger books or equivalent, and three standard orchestral excerpts of the candidate’s choice

2. Mallets: one two-mallet solo and one four-mallet solo AND four standard orchestral excerpts of the candidate’s choice

3. Snare Drum: one solo or etude from Cirone or Delecluse books or equivalent. One rudimental solo by Pratt or Wilcoxon or the equivalent, and four standard orchestral excerpts of the candidate’s choice

Audition Dates

The first round of entrance auditions will take place during the week of February 14–18, 2011.

Prescreening recordings for piano and all voice types must be postmarked no later than December 1, 2010.

Applicants who are subject to prescreening will receive the decision on their recording in mid-January 2011.

Supporting Documents

The following documents must be submitted in support of your application, and must be postmarked no later than December 1, 2010:

Please note that the deadline for piano and voice prescreening recordings is December 1, 2010.
Non-native English speakers must request to have an official TOEFL score sent directly to the school no later than December 1, 2010.

The Glenn Gould School

2010/2011 Student Fees and Additional Fees Information

The actual cost of the study at The Glenn Gould School is much higher than the Student Fees listed below; the full cost for the Performance Diploma Program is $26,250 per year and the full cost of the Artist Diploma Program is $31,500 per year. However, we are committed to making these programs available to as many students as possible. To that end, The Royal Conservatory, together with government and private donors, offsets the true cost of study at The Glenn Gould School by almost 75%, resulting in substantially reduced Student Fees. Moreover, all students are automatically considered for additional scholarships and other qualifying forms of financial aid that could further reduce their Student Fees. 私人朋友的评价（请原谅直接采用了原文，并非是专门针对澳德华的客户而言）：不是泼你的学生的冷水，从忠告你的角度出发，像你这种情况想去考加拿大皇家音乐学院，基本上不现实，改学别的专业吧。很多从小就学音乐的都很难进去。而且学音乐费用很高。像这个音乐学院属世界排名靠前的，就是本国学生想进去都不是非常容易，何况是国际生。再从其他方面考虑了。

从上表的费用数据中，是看不出音乐学士课程的高费用水平的。最主要的是演奏技能课的费用异常的高，而那些是不包括在以学分收费的公开表当中的。

结论1：纠正原来的误解，该学院是有学士学位课程的。

结论2：难点包括一是入学难，二是费用高。
